Homemade Rolls

Image
Making homemade Rolls is actually pretty easy. It sounds difficult, but once you try it for the first time you will never go back. I'm going to give you a basic, easy recipe that is good for beginners. 1 1/2 cups warm water 1 tablespoon yeast   2 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons butter softened 1 teaspoon salt 4 cups all-purpose flour more or less as needed   3 tablespoons melted butter sea salt flakes for sprinkling on top Instructions First, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the hot water (first 3 bullet points). You let this sit for about 5 minutes. It starts to look foamy. That's when you know its time to move to the next step. Second, add the softened butter, salt, and 1 cup of four to the mixer. Begin mixing at a slow speed. Start adding 1/4 cup of remaining flour at a time until the dough is formed. You may not use the entire 4 cups of flour and that is ok. Set dough aside (covered) to let it rise for about 30 m

Freezer Meals

I like to make up a few meals to keep in my freezer for days that I don't have time to cook. It is so convenient to have meals on hand for those days that you are busy or working late. My go to freezer meal is a pot roast with vegetables in the crock pot. Pot Roast with Vegetables: Chuck Roast Diced Carrots Diced Potatos Diced Onions Onion Soup mix I take all of the ingredients and put them in a freezer bag. It is nice to have everything already cut up and put in a bag. When you are ready to cook the pot roast, you dump all ingredients in a crock pot, add about 1/2 cup of water, salt and pepper, and then add the onion soup mix. Turn the crockpot to low and allow it to cook all day. It's that simple!

Vacation Time!

I live in Florida. I am close to Orlando, Florida amusement parks, and I am by no means a stranger to them! This year I am planning a trip to Sea World in April, and Disney World in December. Even with me living in Florida, a trip to Orlando can be pricy, but I have learned over the years a few ways to save. First, there are hotels that serve breakfast and dinner for free. You want to choose a hotel with free meals, because that will save you average $30 a day. Second, there are ways to get tickets to amusement parks for free if you want to spend the time. You can sign up to listen to time share companies try to sell you a time share. You are not obligated to purchase a time share, but they will compensate you for listening. Third, bring your own drinks and snacks. The parks will allow you to bring your own drinks and snacks, and trust me you don't want to pay for drinks in the parks! There are many ways to save on your vacation! I cant wait to tell everyone how my trip went!

Kabobs

Tonight we are making Kabobs with yellow rice for dinner. This is such a good easy meal for the weeknights. You can make your own kabobs by adding to or taking away from my recipe. Ingredients: Chicken (cubed) Sausage Onions Mushrooms Bell peppers Cherry tomato Montreal steak seasoning Dale First, you dice and cube all of the ingredients. Second, marinate the ingredients in olive oil and Montreal steak seasoning. Cook everything on the grill (in a grill pan) and baste the ingredients with Dale seasoning. I serve this dish with yellow rice.
